The Way We Operate PDF Print E-mail

As stated above, our full 'Governing Document' and 'Objectives' can be viewed on the Charity Commission's public charity register, www.charitycommission.gov.uk

At least 95% of all donations, including Gift Aid received from the Inland Revenue, are used directly for projects. We fund some of the costs for one Trustee to visit Uganda each year to oversee the charity's work. Queens Road Baptist Church may fund some of the costs for a second person to visit Uganda. Regular visits are essential to ensure projects are progressing and the charity's funds are being used appropriately. The Trustees and their helpers in the UK are all volunteers and claim no expenses whatsoever for their time spent working for Global Challenge.

The Trustees usually meet each month and follow an agenda, which includes a review of the previous meeting's minutes and action points, and a Treasurers report. We hold information meetings to which all supporters are invited.

Our financial year runs from March 1st to February 28th (29th). Our Chairman is elected in March each year.

The Trustees Commitment ... PDF Print E-mail

Our six trustees are all actively committed to the life of Queens Road Baptist Church, to which the charity is linked.

We will always act with integrity, avoiding any conflicts of interest and will ensure the charity is well run and solvent and achieves its objectives within the framework of charity law.

We have a duty of care to use our personal skills and experience to the full and will take professional advice if necessary.

We each have Criminal Records Bureau clearance and have adopted the child protection policy of the 'Churches child protection and advisory service'.

We are committed to the work of Global Challenge and our partnership with our Ugandan friends
